I took some rosemary-date focaccia to work with me yesterday. It got rave reviews. The interesting thing was that people tried but couldn't identify the flavors.
I spent my day yesterday adding newly scheduled test sites to a spreadsheet. It struck me that I was involved in a solitary pursuit while other members of the boat were chatting away. Not that I minded having work to do. That's not it at all. In my last two jobs, after changing locations a few times, I ended up working in an isolated place. At St. Theodore, I was in a building by myself. At Sabine Pools, I was at the end of a hallway. This time, I wasn't physically away from the people in my boat, but mentally I was apart from them. Interesting. Today, however, I don't think I'll be tied up with the computer, and I'll get a chance to interact more with others.
Oh, while I remember. I forgot to report my weight on Saturday. I weighed 272, for a loss of one pound.
Well, it's time to close.
Zen is not some kind of excitement, but concentration on our usual everyday routine.
