It's Chilly This Morning

My, oh my, but it's chilly this morning!  And of course, we had a little rain yesterday.  I mowed the high spots in my yard before the rain yesterday (after figuring out that the gas line was turned off on the lawn mower).  Am I supposed to turn it off in between mowings?  I never did before.  My neighbor came over with his weed eater and gave me a hand.  He's a pilot with a fertilizer company who searches for pogey fish.  His work is seasonal, mostly in the summer months, so he's home the rest of the time.

I had an earache yesterday, and I tried an old home remedy that was new to me.  It's a rice sock.  Tami from work swears by it.  She has used it for babies with earaches, tummy aches, anything where warmth is soothing.  You put rice inside a sock, tie it up, heat it in the microwave, then rest your ear on it.  It worked!  No more earache.  Sometimes I got it too hot for my ear, so I used it on my neck or shoulder until it cooled a little.  A bonus!
