Wear Your Green Today

I was loaned out to the QA boat for a few hours yesterday to help them get caught up.  I checked work done by the field QA people, who had checked work done by the production people.  And by the way, the QA work had already been checked by a QA field supervisor before it came back to the office.  But of course, just as anyone who has ever proofed anything knows, you can always find something that needs correction.  It was tedious work.  Oh my gosh, just put me on a anthill instead.  You know that old saying, "You don't know what you've got until it's gone?"  Every time I help out another boat, I return with a renewed appreciation for recruiting.

It is interesting to find out a little more about how the whole process works, though.  And if I get the opportunity to transfer to another boat after recruiting closes down, I'll have a better idea of where I'd like to work, given the choice.

Looking at quotes this morning, I was struck by two things.  One, Heywood lived a long time, especially for someone in the 16th century.  Two, life's lessons remain the same throughout time.  Wisdom is wisdom.
If you will call your troubles experiences, and remember that every experience develops some latent force within you, you will grow vigorous and happy, however adverse your circumstances may seem to be.  ~~John Heywood quotes (English Playwright and Poet, 1497-1580)

Learning is not child's play; we cannot learn without pain.  ~~Aristotle quote

  1. "When I look at clutter, it makes me feel uncomfortable. Maybe that's why I started escaping into a fantasy world as a child. It was a soothing place."
You said this a few days ago. What triggered the need to escape when you were a child?
