After folding church bulletins yesterday, I hung out with the bulletin-folding ladies. We went to lunch and a movie (don't remember the name - the one about the woman who goes to Ireland to propose to her boyfriend). It was great to get out and have a light-hearted time. I also decided to join the choir. Fortunately, being able to sing is not a requirement. I sorta hate to join because they are sounding better than ever, and I wouldn't want to set them back. :) But, I know almost everyone in the choir; they are a good bunch. You know, the kind of folks who are kind and like to have a good time without gossiping or whining and complaining? They practice on Thursday nights, so that will give me another outlet, and I won't have to feel like I am by myself when I go to church.
There was a New Orleans Saints special on last night, dealing with the history of the Saints and their fans, and their chances for the Superbowl. The program included a segment on the man who had his $3,800, high-definition, 60-inch wide screen tv shot up by his friends when he lost his bet against the Saints. He said he didn't think they really would shoot his tv. He said he'd never bet on the Saints again, but they haven't won a game since, so I'm thinking it's time for him to sacrifice another tv. Anyway, I got really keyed up just listening to the program. (I was in the kitchen at the time.) I tried to calm down before going to bed, and I thought I had succeeded, but I did not sleep last night. I just could not turn off my brain. I usually concentrate on my breathing to go to sleep. Did not work last night. A myriad of other thoughts kept coming to mind. I gave up and got up around 12:30, then finally went to sleep at 4:30 and slept until around 10 o'clock. I want my other sleep habits back when I turn in at 9 and get up at 5:30!
I gained a pound last week; I weighed 274 this morning. I'm not surprised, given how much I ate last week, but I am disappointed, nevertheless. It's a vegetable soup day today (and tomorrow), so that should help.
It's been raining all day. It's coming down pretty good right now. It's not a bad day for staying inside. I'm glad that I went out yesterday for some fun. I'm still keeping the house in order, although I have to admit that I'm still in my pj's at the moment. I will get dressed later, though, 'cause I hate doing laundry in my pajamas.
Now, for the Very Important Stuff. Come on, Geaux, Saints!
