Can You Say O-O-O-O-O-O-M-M-M-M?

I slept in this morning, and I feel like I could go back to bed and sleep.  I miss waking up at 5:30, feeling ready to get up.  Am I sleeping later because I am not quite back to where I was before the deep freeze, or is it because I have a sore throat?  Or both?  I ignored one piece of advice I received to cure my sore throat - to sleep with a dirty sock around my neck!

My overriding goal for the day is to adopt the zen of Chester.  That is, to think about whatever I am doing at the moment.  This blog is giving me an opportunity to work on that.  Sometimes the keys do not work;  I type, and nothing happens.  A moment later, eveything is working just fine.  It is not related to any particular keys; it just comes and goes.  [Hereis an eample of what I am writing about.]  I am hoping that focusing on the task at hand throughout the day will bring me over the hump.  There is something about putting aside other matters and thinking only of what is going on in the moment that is beneficial to me.

The house is still in good order.  (Okay, it's only been a day, but it's an important indicator.)  As far as my eating habits are concerned, I am still eating too much.  I thought I had discovered a way to enjoy tortilla chips without going overboard when I cooked some split peas and added a can of Rotel tomatoes to them.  They make a delicious dip for tortilla chips, and they are quite filling, so I don't eat so many chips.  It would have been a good plan if I hadn't remembered that Lois had given me some picante sauce.  I ate most of the bag.  It's goodbye chips for a while.  Sigh....

My coffee has kicked in.  I am fully awake now, and I am ready to get on with my day, so I'm signing off  now.  Be sure to take time out to laugh today.  Okay - I just checked out a website to see if I could find a joke to post.  You can choose from different links on the main site to narrow your search.  One of the options, I kid you not, is "Funny Jokes."  Now, that's funny.

If what you did yesterday seems big, you haven't done anything today.  ~~Lou Holtz

  1. I know how some of those home rememdies sound rediculous but one that was recommended to me and it works is for a cough put vicks salve on your feet (really coat them and rub it in) and wear socks. I have had persistent, constant coughs and as soon as I did this, the cough went away.
