First Day of Work

Here's a run-down of how my day went yesterday.  We were to start at 9 o'clock.
9:15  Fred and Larry enter the room.  They leave, looking for a book.
  9:30  We're still waiting.
9:42  Larry comes back, passes out employment folders are passed out, then picks them up to redistribute
when he finds out our names are already on the folders.  We fill out a form.
9:52  Bathroom break.  Larry leaves to talk on the phone.
10:00  Guy behind me is sleeping.
10:04  We get started again.
10:14  One of the people in the room decides he can't work.  We wait while this is discussed.
10:30  There is a problem with the forms in our folders.  We wait for new forms.
10:43  We have a 10 minute break.
11:07  Badges are handed out.  Some of them are wrong.  We wait for new badges.  We wait for new
lanyards.  Fingerprinting begins.  We have completed four forms.
12:30  We're still fingerprinting, but break for lunch.
  1:30  We wait.
2:00  Somebody else comes into the room and has us complete three more forms.  He leaves.  Larry
           comes back.
3:00  We fill out the Census Employment Inquiry again.  We all completed this form once when we tested.
3:26  I am certain that time has stopped completely.
  3:33  Instruction begins.
  4:00  Day ends.

Only three more days of training....

  1. First, I am impressed that you can get this posting done before work.

Second, remember this job will serve many purposes. Gets you out of the house, you make a little money, you have the opportunity to interact with a others and probably most important of all, it does not last forever.
