Little Things

It's almost 6:30, so this will be a short post.

When I first started my medication, I marked the bottles AM and PM so that I wouldn't confuse the two different medications.  My thinking wasn't clear enough for me to be sure that I would take the right one at the right time.  When I started my next round four weeks later, I did not have to mark the bottles.  Now, I know them by sight and by the different sounds the pills make when I shake the bottles.  Part of that is just becoming familiar with the medications, but another part is being able to think more clearly.  When I first started taking my meds, I could feel my mood lifting a little each day.  And as my mood lifted, my thought process and ability to concentrate improved as well.

As I waited for my coffee to brew this morning, it seemed to me that it was going so very slowly.  Maybe a teaspoon at the time.  I thought it would never finish, but, of course, it did.  It reminded me that life's journey is made up of little steps and how much impact little things can have in our lives.

Time has flown, I've got to go.
Time marches on, and pretty soon, you realize it's marching across your face.
