It's so nice to wake up early again. It was chilly this morning, so I cranked up the heat and went back to my cozy bed while the house warmed up. Then I was up to have my coffee and watch the sunrise. Having quiet morning time and blogging time makes such a difference in my day. There's something about this time that sets the tone for the whole day. I recommend that you try writing every morning. If you don't want to publish your thoughts, write a personal journal. Find a special font, change your toolbars, do whatever you can to give you visual cues that this is your journal space. It's amazing how I have a whole different mindset when I sit down and see the frame for my blog than when I open a Word document. (Or, you could write in a physical journal, but I like the ability to edit without having to scratch out.) Try it out. I had no idea when I started what this blog would come to mean to me. There is just something so valuable about taking the time to record your thoughts.
It's been a while since I reported on my weight. I've lost a total of 8 pounds since I started keeping track. I've been going up and down. This past week I gained 3 pounds, after losing 6 pounds the week before. In my desire to take advantage of my new fridge, I cooked bigger meals so I'd have more leftovers, but instead I ate more. Hopefully, I've gotten that out of my system. And I'm feeling better, too. I was dragging a little last week. Nothing like feeling tired to make me eat more.
The only time to eat diet food is while you're waiting for the steak to cook. ~~Julia Child
8 lbs is pretty good, I'd say
