I had a biting experience this morning. Fire ants invaded my dirty clothes, as well as my house coat, which was hanging next to them. I didn't notice until I put on my house coat and felt the stings. I hate fire ants.
And I woke up with my left foot swollen this morning and hurts some when I walk on it. It was fine when I went to bed last night. Go figure.
Other than that, I'm just fine.
We have begun the "work as long as you can" mode at the census. It will continue until the last of the EQ's come home. This is a blitz push, so it should be over soon. Fortunately, one of the regional people has taken charge of getting us organized and implementing quality control procedures for us. She even had us clean up the work space. You have no idea what it looked like before. Since day 1, in the production area, there were empty boxes and boxes full of things everywhere, most of which we do not need any more. There were papers, rubber bands, pens, pencils, paper clips, binder clips, and all sorts of forms scattered all over the place. It is now clean and organized.
This is the first time we've had someone actually direct the work of the clerks. If you've ever seen Hell's Kitchen, where Gordon Ramsey tries to help owners of failing restaurants turn things around, you've got an idea of what work has been like in production. No one ever took charge, leaving us clerks to duke it out amongst ourselves.
