Off to Work

Yesterday we were poised to receive all of the outstanding EQ's from the field.  On Thursday, we had printed labels, put them on questionnaires, listed them all on assignment sheets, double-checked that we had them all recorded, and called in enumerators to pick them up, or sent someone out to distribute them to enumerators.  Everyone was to have them in hand so they could start first thing Friday morning.

And they did.  In fact, some houses were visited by 3 different enumerators on Friday.  Apparently, some locations were listed in more than one AA (assignment area).  This goes all the way back to map-spotting.  Two different people had one apartment complex; fortunately, the FOS realized that two different people were going to the same place, and we were able to delete the ones with the faulty addresses printed on them.

However, there was another problem.  There were about 100 questionnaires that didn't go out into the field.  Labels, I guess, were never printed for them.  No one knows just what happened, but, of course, if you had seen the way the labels were being printed, you wouldn't have been surprised.  So, either the questionnaire or information about the location went out last night, and they are all supposed to be back in by noon today.

So, I'm off to work.  This may be the last day of overtime for a while.  Or we may crank up for the next phase.  Or we may go back to short hours.  Nobody knows.
