Tuesday morning

Just a quick post this morning.

Yesterday I did the verbatim part of training for new clerks.  It was fun, reading from the text for the first time.  I'm also learning some things that I didn't get when I trained.  And it's a good way to get to know new people coming into the office.  I wonder how many more people will be trained for the office.  We're pretty full right now.  In fact, I'm not sure where they are going to put these people.

I'm training one of my old professors from McNeese.  I didn't recognize him at first - he is now clean shaven and wears glasses.  But he's a talker, and it didn't take long for his story to clue me in.  It's interesting to see the variety of people who work for the census, from first time workers to retired professionals, people with completely different backgrounds.  Different ways of talking, different ways of looking at the world.  I hope I can continue on with verbatim training, especially when we start training the enumerators.  Then I'll get to see folks from central Louisiana, too.

Well, got to go.  Sunshine, today, I think.  It's a good thing.
